How Will You Make an Impact?

I wanted to do something truly meaningful that helps others without judgement. That is SRAP!
— Judy T, SRAP volunteer

Just a few ways you can make an impact

  • Direct Payments

Make payments directly to Stoughton Utilities + Alliant Energy to cover monthly bills. This frees up SRAP funds to cover rent and other necessities for longer.

  • Gift Cards

Have a favorite business you’d like to support? Purchase gift cards (like for gas, food, haircut, shoes/clothes) to donate to refugee families who left it all behind.

  • Family Liaison

Check in with one of our families weekly to determine if they have any needs. You then connect them with the person who can help.

  • Start a Fundraiser

Fundraising brings attention to the cause and allows you to make a difference. Lemonade stand? Handmade Goods Auction? A portion of your Sales donated? It adds up!

  • Employer Match

Check with your employer to see if they match gifts for registered 501(c)(3) non-profits. This has the potential to double your gift!

  • Welcome Notes

Write a note that can be given to the families to know that Stoughton welcomes them. Include children in your efforts by having them include their personalized artwork.

  • Volunteer Time

There are endless ways you can help. If you have the time and desire to get involved, we need your help! Transporting, organizing, coordinating, making calls, researching, fundraising, social media, photography, heavy lifting… the list goes on.

  • Sponsor a Birthday / Christmas

The families have left everything behind and have little to no means to purchase gifts for each other. Plan a party like you would for your own child or loved one. A cake, decorations, gift(s), anything to make them feel special during such a trying time.

  • English Tutor

The refugees arrive with varying degrees of understanding the English language. The sooner they can learn to speak and understand English, the sooner they can make connections, get a job, and feel comfortable in our community.
