Refugee assistance that promotes stability and opportunity to build a new life
The United States has long been a safe place for people fleeing war, conflict, and persecution. Welcoming refugees into our neighborhoods is not only secure, vetted, and safe — it's also good for communities, creating safer towns and more prosperous economies.
Since May, 2022 Stoughton Resettlement has resettled 15 families and 2 individuals in Stoughton. With incredible community assistance and support, these new homes are fully furnished with quality, donated household items. Because of the generosity of donors, Stoughton Resettlement is able to pay the rent, utilities, additional food costs, and other needed items for these families until they are able to begin work.
Our volunteers assist the families with getting food, clothing, school and household items, cell phones and internet access, as well as providing assistance with applications for work permits, social security cards, WI drivers licenses, medical benefits, school enrollment, employment searches and applications, ESL coursework, immigration advocacy and more.
